OS X Panther Server set-up

Hi All!

I have a few questions that hopefully someone can point me in the right direction.

I work at a Junior High School and will be responsible for setting up the new OS X network. I'm looking for a step by step guide but have'nt found much online or in book stores.

We have about 220 Apple computers 75% are older iMacs and snow iBooks running OS 9.2.2 , ASIP and Mac Manager. The remaining are brand new eMacs running OS X 10.3.4

We have purchased a G4 X-Serve, 320 GB, OSX 10.3.

I will need to set up server(s) for file/print services, web server, and document storage for 3 general groups, 7th & 8th grade students and teachers.

I will need to be able to configure the older and the newer computers to the new server. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

if the manual isn't good enough, you'll have to wait sor schoun regan and john welch's book, available for pre-order on amazon.com. Mac OS X Server Visual Quickstart Guide http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/ … anti056-20

pike480,
if you mean the documentation that comes with the x-serve, it's greatly lacking...also the documents in the apple knowledge base don't address many of the questions I  have, or at least I cant seem to find the information... I have seen the book you mentioned on amazon, seems they pushed the availabilty date back a couple of times, who knows when it will eventually come out. I was hoping to get a head start this summer to have the system up and running for the new school year. Thanks for your help.

I think pike meant the Server Manual which comes with your copy of OS X server. it should be in pdf format on ofe of the cds. Its like 600+ pages.
